Conferences & Networking

The SAS regularly sponsors conferences, workshops, and conference sessions. If you are planning an event relevant to the goals of the society, please get in touch with the VP of Intersociety Relations so that we can explore a partnership.  If you're a student SAS member interested in promoting professional fellowship among your peers, check out the Student Ambassador program and reach out to our VP for Membership Development to learn more.

The SAS Student Ambassadors have organized a monthly online journal club meeting to discuss exciting new articles in the field. These events are open to any interested scholars, students, and professionals. The first event of the year will discuss J. Stephens et al.'s recent article "Chemical and isotopic analyses reconstruct multi-scalar copper circulation networks in West Africa: evidence from Akjoujt and Walaldé, 1st millenium BCE – 1st millenium CE."

The meeting will take place on Friday, November 20th, at 3pm Central European Time and will be led by Co-Lead Ambassador Caitlyn Pallas. The zoom link to join the event will be sent out to those registered in advance. Sign up here to receive the link!

The SAS Student Ambassador Program provides opportunities for students to develop leadership, science communication, and recruitment skills. Ambassadors organize regional conferences and workshops, symposia at international conferences, and online events such as webinars and these journal club meetings.
