In 2026, SAS will sponsor a range of archaeological science conferences including, but not only, the Ceramics & Archaeological Sciences session at the 91 Annual SAA meeting, San Francisco, CA, The Great Scientific Exchange (SciX), Sparks, NV, the UK Archaeological Sciences Conference, Bristol, and the 45 International Symposium on Archaeometry, Turin. SAS members benefit from registration discounts at selected partner events.
Apply for flexible funding to advance your research
SAS Members can apply for the Student and ECR Research Support Award (apply by 16 Feb 2026), the SAS-Beta Radiocarbon Dating Award (apply by 16 Feb 2026), and the EAG Laboratories–SAS Student Pilot Research Award (apply by 13 Apr 2026). Get recognized for professional excellence
The SAS offers Student Poster Prizes at the SAA, ISA, and other conferences. We also recognize earlycareer excellence through the SAS & Journal of Archaeological Science Emerging Investigator Award and the SAS Charles C. Kolb Award for Archaeological Ceramics. Junior leadership and mid-career to senior professional opportunities
The SAS Student Ambassador Program offers student members the opportunity to get involved inpromoting archaeological science and build leadership skills. The Inter-Organization Delegate Program seeks to leverage the communication skills and well-developed networks of mid-career and senior professionals to promote mutually beneficial relations with other institutions and develop partner programming that adds value to SAS membership.
