In 2025, SAS will sponsor archaeological science conferences in the USA (Ceramics and Archaeological Sciences at the Annual SAA meeting, Denver, CO; multiple symposia at The Great Scientific Exchange in Covington, KY), France (2025 Archaeometry Colloquium of the GMPCA, Rouen), and Italy (11th International Symposium on Biomolecular Archaeology, Turin). Apply for flexible funding to advance your research
SAS Members can apply for the Student and ECR Research Support Award (apply by 16 Feb 2025), and the brand new SAS-Beta Radiocarbon Dating Award (apply by 16 Feb 2025) and the EAG Laboratories–SAS Student Pilot Research Award (apply by 14 Apr 2025). Get recognized for professional excellence
The SAS offers Student Poster Prizes at the SAA, ISA, and other conferences. We also recognize earlycareer excellence through the SAS & Journal of Archaeological Science Emerging Investigator Award and the SAS Charles C. Kolb Award for Archaeological Ceramics. The awards include a monetary prize, one-year SAS membership, and social media promotion. Check the Awards section on the SAS website formore information.

Junior leadership and mid-career to senior professional opportunities
The SAS Student Ambassador Program offers student members the opportunity to get involved inpromoting archaeological science and build leadership skills. The Inter-Organization Delegate Program seeks to leverage the communication skills and well-developed networks of mid-career and senior members to promote mutually beneficial relations with other institutions through leadership roles.
