*PhD opportunities in the broad interdisciplinary field of "Human
Development in Landscapes"

*Up to 30 (!) graduate student positions at the interface between
humanities, social and natural sciences are available to start in spring
2010 at Christian Albrechts University, Kiel, Germany. Research at the
Graduate School "Human Development in Landscapes" is aimed at enhancing
our understanding of human-environment interaction in the past in order
to develop future scenarios. There are a number of specific research
topics available
(http://www.uni-kiel.de/landscapes/allgemein/jobs.shtml) but graduates
are also encouraged to develop their own projects within the broader
thematic areas.

Applicants should be highly-motivated to work in an interdisciplinary
research environment and be of excellent academic standing. Interested
graduates from the field of archaeobotany are encouraged to contact me
via email as soon as possible. The deadline for applications from
graduates wishing to enter our graduate program in Spring 2010 is
January 7th, 2010.
For details and official application instructions please consult the
Graduate Schools Homepage at
