Dear Colleagues:

We are organizing an archaeological science poster session sponsored by the=
Society for Archaeological Science for the 2010 Society for American Archa=
eology Meeting in St. Louis, MO (April 14 - 18, 2010) http://www.saa.org/Ab=
outtheSociety/AnnualMeeting/tabid/138/Default.aspx . A rough draft of the s=
ession abstract is included below. Please, consider participating in this s=
ession. We encourage posters based on any archaeological science discipline=
/topic. We hope to see you in St. Louis!

Archaeological Science 2010

The astonishing growth in archaeological science during the past decade, dr=
iven in large part by advances in technology, has culminated in an increasi=
ngly interdisciplinary "type" of archaeology that has allowed archaeologist=
s to address a wider range of questions than previously considered possible=
. Increasingly, these questions are focused on prehistoric social interacti=
ons, cultural exchanges, migrations, trade, and the dynamic nature of group=
identifications. This session highlights analytical approaches and case st=
udies in which science-based interdisciplinary approaches are used to explo=
re questions grounded in modern archaeological science, i.e., archaeobiolog=
y, bioarchaeology, and archaeometry (e.g., dating methods, provenance studi=
es, and prospection).

If you, or any of your students, are interested in participating in this sy=
mposium, and due to the different schedule and fieldwork of the organizers,=
please email Javier G. Inanez, and CC Christopher Wolff and Robert J. Spea=
kman, so we can be sure to acknowledge your participation and/or address an=
y queries.
