2008 Biennial Meeting Information.

2008 AMQUA Biennial Meeting will be held at Pennsylvania State 
University, State College, PA, June 5-7, 2008 with field trips June 4 
and June 8-9, and a teaching workshop on Climate Change: Ice Core 
Research will be June 2-3. The meeting theme is "Quaternary Ice 
Sheet-Ocean Interactions and Landscape Responses." Click

registration and lodging will be up soon and will be linked from the

information will be posted to the AMQUA list serve as soon as the site is up.

The deadline for abstract submission and early registration will be April 30.


STUDENT TRAVEL GRANTS.

AMQUA is awarding a number of student travel grants of $350 each. The 
deadline for application has been extended to March 31, 2008, and 
successful applicants will be notified before the registration 
deadline. To apply for a student travel grant, send a letter request 
for a travel award and one copy of the abstract to: Dr. Bonnie 
Styles, AMQUA Secretary, Illinois State Museum, 1011 East Ash Street, 
Springfield, IL 62703-3500; Tel (217) 782-7475, FAX (217) 785-2857, 
email styles at museum.state.il.us. E-mail submissions are 
preferred.  Important: You must be an AMQUA member to be eligible, 
and you must also submit your abstract online as a part of the normal 
registration process. However, you may apply for the travel grant 
before registering and submitting an abstract online. For more

Application Deadline Extended for the 2008 Denise Gaudreau Award

The application deadline for the 2008 Denise Gaudreau Award has been 
extended to March 31, 2008. This biennial award of $500 was 
established to support the early career development of women 
scientists in Quaternary studies. Female scientists in any field of 
Quaternary studies within two years prior to completing the Ph.D. 
(i.e., they have not yet finished their dissertation research) are 
encouraged to apply. Membership in AMQUA and citizenship in the 
United States are not required.

The award will be presented at the 2008 AMQUA Biennial Meeting. The 
award will also include support to cover registration cost and up to 
$350 in travel expenses to attend the meeting. Gaudreau applicants 
are encouraged to present a poster at the meeting. Submit all
