Subject: REMINDER [Fwd: Human - Environment Interactions session at
Archaeometry]
The 37th international Archaeometry conference is in Sienna, Italy, next
year on the 12th to the 16th of May. The deadline for Abstracts is 15th

The nature of human interaction with the environmental and climatic
change is an essential question for archaeology. In a number of areas it
is critical to test changes in climate, landscape and environment that
impact upon human groups in the past, as well as the impact of human
societies on their own environment over time. The science behind
building and testing models for human-environmental interaction is
complex. Problematic issues include: developing chronological control,
required to examine the exact timing of changes in both archaeological
and environmental record; gaining a sound understanding of the
geoarchaeological record; the integration of biological and
environmental records; and significant and sometimes very abrupt changes
in the landscape. In order to explore these questions further, high
quality papers are sought that cover the range of approaches. Particular
preference will be given to novel studies or proposals that integrate
techniques and show strong methodological approaches to linking the
archaeological, geological, geographical and environmental records.
