The aim of this event is to create a focus on the applications of glass
science in art and conservation. We hope to enhance communication among
scientists belonging to different fields with artist and conservators. The
congress will give an opportunity to work together and discuss the latest
results in a variety of topics including: Bronze Age glass • Hellenistic glass
• Islamic glass • Roman glass • Mould-blown glass • Glass decoration and enamel
• Medieval stained glass window • Façon-de-Venise glass • Glass in the 18th and
19th century • Contemporary glass • Glass technology production • Raw materials
• Dating and provenance of glass • Restoration and conservation of glass •
Glass corrosion and weathering • Archaeometry of glass
•........................

Further information about the meeting is now available in the file
attached to this e-mail and it is also available at the conference web site
(www.uv.es/glassac). If you would like to attend the congress, and have not yet
registered, please, visit the site as soon as possible and send us the
registration form. Note there is an early registration fee if you register and
pay by January 15th. The conference registration fee includes all open
sessions, conference sponsored materials, refreshment breaks, lunch, conference
proceedings, and the social dinner.

In order to make a preliminary selection we highly suggest you submit, as
soon as possible, a short abstract to the Scientific Secretary. Remember that
NEW deadline for submission is November 30th. The preliminary program for
plenary talks is also available.
As we announced in the first circular, an interesting glass exhibition:
THE LANGUAGE OF THE MATTER. Carlos Muñoz de Pablos: glassworking painter, will
take place during the conference.

Please, spread this information to your colleagues who may be interested
to this conference.

Looking forward to seeing you in
Valencia,
