[Sasnet] Geoarchaeology: Activities in Western Turkey / Agean Coast area?

Dear list subscribers,

this is a question, not an announcement.

I am asking this for a friend of mine who is considering starting a
project in archeology but depends a bit on geoarchaeological results and
activities for this. Do you know about projects in geoarchaeology in
western turkey / agean are? Any institutions involved, people,
publications? Anyone one should/could ask to find out previous work? My
friend is currently evaluating a topic for a PhD thesis, but it looks
like he need some contact to people working in that area in
geoarchaeology, while he is working in archaeology (mainly byzantine).
