Dear Colleague,

The 24th European Crystallographic Meeting is held in Marrakech from August
22-27, 2007: http://www.ecm24.org/
A microsymposium, MS45 - Crystallography in Art and Archeology, will
illustrate how crystallographic (incl. X-rays, electrons and neutrons)
techniques (experimental and theory) are playing an ever-increasing role in
uncovering secrets of many art and archaeological artefacts in the past,
and are essential in their understanding and in their restoration.

You are kindly invited to submit contributions both for oral and poster
presentations.
Please reply back to info at ecm24.org, cc to
:georges.tsoucaris at culture.gouv.fr, eric.dooryhee at grenoble.cnrs.fr.

Mind the deadline for abstract submission is April 15, 2007.

Looking forward to meeting you in Marrakech.

Georges Tsoucaris and Eric Dooryhee.
Chair and co-chair of MS45

Notes :
1) the IUCr MaThCryst commission organizes a Satellite conference on Art
and Crystallography devoted to the analysis of the Moroccan ornaments. The
satellite conference will be held from 20 to 22 August, 2007.

2) "In keeping with the tradition of ECM congresses, no financial support
will be offered to speakers who must regularly register to the congress. In
fact, the organisers use a quite significant part of the congress income to
provide bursaries to students and young researchers, thus favouring the
circulation of the discipline also among those who have no access to
funding" (ECM Organizing Committee).
