Call For Papers
The Center for Archaeological Investigations at Southern
Illinois University, Carbondale is soliciting papers for the
24th annual Visiting Scholar Conference, to be held March 23-
24, 2007. This year's theme is The Archaeology of
Anthropogenic Environments. The conference will consider the
archaeological evidence for human manipulation of the
environment, both as a context for modern environments, and as
a source of data about past societies. Please submit a title
and abstract of 200-250 words by November 27. Abstracts will
be reviewed by the visiting scholar committee, and authors will
be notified of acceptance in January. Selected papers from the
conference will be published as a peer-reviewed volume by the
Center for Archaeological Investigations, in its Occasional
Papers series. For further information, contact Rebecca Dean,
(618) 453-5032, rdean at siu.edu, or see
